Sessions are currently scheduled for a 17:30 start time, each Monday evening, where the on-ice time in our practice meet-up will ideally be preceded by a coach-led routine of dry-land training exercise drills;
No practice session evenings will generally be held on the Monday of a long weekend holiday, though notification of such session postponements will be confirmed via an email message sent to members, or at least announced on this club website.
Cost: Your first-time try out session is always going to be free; after that – we talk!
To become a club member & participate in a season's worth of skate practices, one can choose between paying either::
This equates to around $20 per session, which includes: ice time; coaching, rental of club-owned speed skates (best-fit selected from the club's inventory of variously sized short track speed skates;
Instigating a subscription to membership via an online payment is available [refer tab page]
Once an athlete commits and requests to begin taking home the skates loaned to him/her for use during a season's session nights, accompanying this agreement might be a request for receipt of a nominal amount security deposit;
At season end, when skates are generally returned for btwn-seasons' sharpening/maintenance,
a basic skate use fee = $50 retained by PCSSC will be incorporated in the transaction for refunding the balance of the security deposit.
Every skater must have and maintain valid current membership with the national body governing the sport of skating: US SpeedSkating;
For intending athlete newbies to speed skating, US SpeedSkating offers a trial membership for your first 5 practice sessions.
